With Dogs & Knives
Get ready for the ULTIMATE THRILL with a hog dog hunt!
Join us in the heart of Texas for an exhilarating experience
chasing invasive wild hogs with our team of bay dogs.
How we facilitate the fun!
This hog hunt is designed for the ultimate thrill seekers and hard-core hunters! Chasing invasive wild hogs in Texas with hounds is about as fun as it gets! Our team of bay dogs will be turned out on the scent trail of the hogs, and will run until they find them. We suit up pit bulls with kevlar vests and make our approach. The bay dogs corral the hog until we can send in a catch dog from less than 50 yards away. We follow immediately behind the catch dog and send a client or guide in to grab the back legs of the hog while another client dispatches the wild pig with a knife. These hunts can range over hundreds of yards. Hunters should expect to walk up to 3 miles. Getting to the dogs is urgent for their safety and our success. We are fully confident in the safety of this epic hog hunt. We have assembled a group of excellent guides and dogs, and we can accommodate large groups of hunters in multiple teams. This is a great day time hog hunting opportunity and is sure to make your heart pump!
Our goal for these hunts is one hog per person. While this is never a guarantee, we do have great success and can add additional hogs for a small fee after everyone has gotten one. Seeing the dogs navigate using their sense of smell is an awesome experience. We include everyone in this hunt. We will have clients leading catch dogs, grabbing caught hogs, and of course, the “knife man.”

FAQ
No license is required for hogs. Wild hogs can be taken day or night without a current hunting license. Coyotes and bobcats do require a license.
Wild hogs really tend to run away unless you corner them. If hunters don’t listen closely to instructions, they could run into danger. However, our guides make sure to keep everyone at a safe distance. We have had a few close calls. One hunter did not listen to instructions and walked in on the face side of a caught hog. It turned its head and grabbed him by the pants, just missing his leg! He pulled back and ripped his pants all the way to the crotch. See the video here around the 5 minute mark
Our catch dogs wear thick, kevlar protective vests and collars. This does a great job of protecting them, but when they face a beast of a boar, sometimes injures happen. These dogs live for the hunt and bounce back quickly from the cuts and scrapes. We do our absolute best to protect them and get to them quickly when they catch a hog.
Wild hogs tend to bed down in the daytime. They will choose a spot with thick brush to protect them from the elements. Trained hog dogs can be put out on fresh tracks and find the pigs. This is the most effective way to find hogs during the daylight hours. Hog hunting with dogs is a thrill for hunters and can be super fun! Feral hogs are invasive in East Texas and can be taken legally with dogs and knife.
